Description : Its now estimated that more than 73000 people died in the massive earthquake that struck south Asia on 8 October. But while the race against time to provide shelter for the survivors goes on, more than half of the bodies buried by the quake have yet to be recovered. For bereaved families, knowing the fate of loved ones and being able to perform the rites of burial is a vital way of helping them come to terms with their loss. This report focuses on what’s being done in Pakistani -administered Kashmir to treat the dead with dignity and the support from the International Committee of the Red Cross to assisting in the management of the dead.
