A major focus for this mission is the predicament of families in Afghanistan waiting for news of family members detained in Guantanamo Bay. It includes emotional interviews with parents and children when they receive family messages from their detained brothers or father and the value of the Red Cross Message service. Footage also covers the work of the Afghan Red Crescent Society in Mazar-I-Sharif showing their work with the.family messages to families of Afghan detainees in Afghan prisons or in Bagram to keep in touch with family members. This is a vital link since any other form of communication is too expensive neither possible for them.
