The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) promotes and advocates for the respect of international humanitarian law (IHL) by the armed forces.
Following a three-year cooperation agreement signed with the Ministry of Defense in 2005, the ICRC conducted a training of IHL’s trainers course for senior officers of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) during the spring of 2006.
