Description :
Mohin (Mohin Ahmad Mahmud Hussein) lives in the town of Nazlat isa, in Tulkarm in the northern West Bank. But the construction of the West Bank Barrrier has left several houses isolated from the main town, cut off from many basic services. Even though Barrier was built along the Green line (border of 1967) in this village, simple daily tasks have taken on monumental proportions. Just doing the family shopping has turned a five minute walk into a long and tedious expedition and a security process that would do justice to a major international airport. For some residents, the impact of the barrier has been even more disruptive. Mohin is one of several house-owners whose homes, shops and businesses have been arbitrarily destroyed. Mohin's house and aluminium workshop were bulldozed on the morning of his wedding day, with no warning. He is now forced to live in his brother's house and has no means of rebuilding his own home. The barrier has severe humanitarian consequences on over 100.000 Palestinians, causing curtailment, damage and destruction to Palestinian property and depriving local Palestinian residents of access to their land, work and basic services as well as to their own family members. These consequences cannot be reconciled with International Humanitarian Law, which requires that Israel ensures that needs of the civilians living under its occupation.
