Description : The ancient city of Hebron in the heart of the southern West Bank has long been a source of tension and violence. Its the only place in the West Bank where a small community of Jewish settlers live in the centre of a Palestinian city. Outside the city, new Jewish settlements have also expanded to the south and east.. As the settlements have grown, the Israelis have closed access in and out of the city, installed checkpoints and declared the main commercial street in the old city off limits to Palestinians. According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the closures and curfews are getting worse, making life increasingly difficult and frustrating for local people. Jan Powell of TVRL Switzerland reports.
