After three weeks of intense fighting that forced people to flee, families displaced by the fighting in Shijaiya, one of Gaza's poorest neighbourhoods, are returning to see the extent of the damage. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Palestine Red Crescent Society are working to rehabilitate the infrastructure, but this will take time and will require resources beyond emergency aid.
