Description :
The water supply in Port-au-Prince was already in a critical state but the earthquake made the situation far worse as the supply network was crushed and fractured. Tens of thousands of people were left without safe water. Setting up self contained water storage and distribution systems was an immediate priority for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
