Description :
Rare are the occasions during which it is possible to make a film on war surgery. This film was shot in Peshawar, in the ICRC surgical hospital reserved for war-wounded patients, who, very often, have had to make a long journey to receive medical care. The aim of the film is to show common injuries a surgeon is likely to come across. It shows the excision of the wound, the most important amputations and the use of external fixative, how to treat these wounds. This didactic film, however, is just an introduction. It is meant for the training of surgeons which are confronted for the first time with the treatment of war wounds.
