Description :
It's one hundred and fifty years of achievement in the sense of bringing aid to people in need. Supporting them in the most difficult situations of war and armed violence. Well it started as a Swiss association with barely a handful of members and it has grown in to still a Swiss organisation but with 13,000 employees active in 92 countries. Engaging within the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement in many more countries, together with the national societies of those countries. It has become multinational – 146 nations represented in the staff of the organisation. so it has evolved considerably in particularly in the last twenty years. There is the significant of the number – and the symbolic of the number encourages us to look forward and to ask ourselves: do we do the right thing? What is the environment in which we are operating today? How can we overcome some of the obstacles and difficulties we encounter? What do we learn from the past? How can we do better? So it's first and foremost an occasion to look into the future.
