Description :
The arrival every year of hot and humid weather in October marks the start of the plague season in Madagascar. The fleas multiply and the risk of transmission increases. Insecticide is used against fleas and the rats that carry them are caught. In prisons where rats abound, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) helps the authorities and prisoners to prevent the risk of a major epidemic.
