Description : Access to care in Bangui remains very difficult for many of the injured and sick. Julien Columeau, a delegate from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who spent four months in the Central African Republic, describes the immense challenges of evacuating people who need to be taken to hospital or back home from the health facility. In CAR, as in other conflict zones, ensuring safe transfer to hospital is a matter of life and death.
