Description :
Edmundo is a farmer from Samar, but Typhoon Haiyan robbed him of his home and his crops. The destruction made it impossible to return to farming right away, but also meant that a lot of reconstruction was necessary. The Red Cross trained him to work as a carpenter, helping rebuild infrastructure so that it would be more resistant to future storms. He has used his new skills both to build a new home for himself and his family, and to earn a living.
A year on, he and his family are living in their new home, and Edmundo hopes to begin farming again.
