Description :
Alicia and Lorena are looking for answers. Some of their family went missing in Chile between 1973 and 1990 under the military regime. They are just two of the many people still struggling to find out what happened to relatives. As they search for truth and justice, they've given blood samples to help trace their missing relatives. The inclusion of DNA analyses in forensic practice means that their blood samples might help to find out what has happened to some of the disappeared. The Chilean authorities and the families of the disappeared asked four organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to safeguard the DNA samples on their behalf. Thanks to these DNA samples, people like Alicia and Lorena will hopefully one day find the answers they have been seeing for nearly 30 years.
