6 news sequences: the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) opened a delegation in Koweit City, on March 1, 1991, two day after the country came under control of the coalition forces. The ICRC's main tasks were - and still are - to protect vulnerable groups within the civilian population, to visit detainees, to search for disappeared soldiers and civilians, to ensure the exchange of messages between family members separated by war, and to repatriate prisoners of war.
