In Somalia, the combined effects of drought and war have had in the past months disastrous consequences. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is active in several hospitals and has brought over 60,000 tonnes of food to the country. It has set up community kitchens which prepare meals daily for close to half a million people.
