Description :
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Agronomist, David Kuhn Von Burgdorff, paints a vivid picture of the devastation caused by the conflict in Gaza on its agricultural land and farming community.
He describes the massive decontamination work and mine awareness training that the Weapon Contamination (WeC) team helped carry out in order to make the land safe again for farming. Coupled with financial and technical support to local farmers, and a huge operation to re-level the land, this work meant that the community was able to plant new crops on their land without missing a harvest season.
