Description : In order to meet the needs of its surgical programme, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reached an agreement with the Cambodian Ministry of health since 1990 to restore the national centre for blood transfusion, and set up other regional centres for transfusion. Thus the Mongkol Borei hospital is now equipped to carry on operations and care for the sick and those wounded by landmines, who are still numerous in Cambodia despite mine clearance operations.
