Description : In the face of war or natural disaster, every minute counts. A human being can survive for some time without food and shelter. Not without clean water.
Maintaining or restoring access to water is often complex. It means working in the middle of the fighting or accessing areas that are sometimes cut off from the world. It requires advanced technical knowledge and practice in emergency situations.
This is why, for the past 20 years, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the University of Neuch√Ętel have been working together to train humanitarian engineers capable of responding quickly and effectively to needs. They can count on the support of the private sector to develop solutions adapted to the realities of the field.
Once again this year, 20 professionals from the humanitarian sector, the private sector and academia participated in a course that combines theory and practice in Neuch√Ętel, Switzerland.
