Description :
This film, covering all aspects of the problem of antipersonnel landmines, was made for the symposium organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Montreux, Switzerland, in April 1993. These terrible weapons continue to kill ou mutilate innocent civilians long after the end of hostilities and prevent refugees from returning to their country. Footage shot in Cambodia, Afghanistan and Somalia shows mine victims, surgical and orthopaedical care provided to them, as well as mine clearing operations. The ICRC's president and surgeons call for a ban on the use of antipersonnel landmines.
