Description :
Since fighting broke out in the Lake Chad region over 2 million have fled their homes.
In 2015 the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) provided food and other essential items to over half a million people in Nigeria. And provided safe drinking water for refugees and the internally displaced.
At Diffa hospital, in neighbouring Niger, the ICRC treated hundreds wounded in the violence.
There are thousands of people separated from their family. The ICRC and the Red Cross Societies are working across the region to reunite families separated by the conflict.
