Description :
The outbreak of the conflict in Syria has forced many Lebanese residing there to flee the harsh reality of war and return to Lebanon after March 2011. The ICRC has been assisting them so far by providing relief food and essential household items, such as blankets, mattresses, food parcels, hygiene kits, tarpaulins and jerrycans.
To assist the most vulnerable among Lebanese returnees and their host communities as well, the ICRC has decided to launch a Cash Assistance Program which will allow beneficiaries to freely invest in what they need most.
Each family will receive a monthly cash amount ranging from 150 to 250 USD Dollars over a period of 5 months. During the winter months (November-March), all beneficiaries will receive an additional cash amount of 100 USD Dollars per month to ensure they can cover their winter needs.
