Description : Lebanon has been affected by three different periods of conflict that have left mines and explosive remnants of war behind.
The ICRC is working with the proper Lebanese authorities who are dealing with this, predominantly the military through the Lebanese mine action center which is a very well established and very well thought of institutional body designed specifically to deal with mines and explosive remnants of war in Lebanon.
Additionally, the ICRC is working with the National Societies and the Lebanon Red Cross Society to examine ways of expanding risk education activities to give populations within contaminated areas, knowledge on how to work, live and play in those areas safely.
