Description : Attacks on health services during conflict and violence are among the most serious challenges to humanitarian endeavour. Violence against health workers, health facilities, ambulances, the sick and the wounded is all too often ignored.
Former Kyrgyz president Roza Otunbayeva, former health minister Sabyrbek Jumabekov and former boxing champion Orzubek Nazarov explain why they are supporting the ICRC's "Health Care in Danger" campaign, which promotes respect and protection for health services during conflict and violence.
In November 2011, Kyrgyzstan joined in passing a resolution at the International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent aimed at boosting respect and protection for health services through the worldwide "Health Care in Danger" campaign.
