Description :
Dr. Manuel Sáenz Terrazas, originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, works with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a trauma surgeon. His humanitarian work has taken him to countries like South Sudan and Lebanon, where he currently works in the emergency department of Rafik University Hospital in Beirut.
Dr. Sáenz's first mission outside of Mexico was in Honduras, at the Hospital Escuela Universitario of Tegucigalpa, which depends on the National Autonomous University of Honduras and which concentrates practically all cases of trauma in the country.
After completing his mission in Honduras, he traveled to South Sudan, where he worked at Yuba Military Hospital, and currently works at Rafik Hariri University Hospital, where he performs emergency surgery procedures to serve the population that most needs it.
For Dr. Sáenz, the greatest satisfaction that this experience has left him is to realize that he can work with people from many countries and make decisions with them, in order to help people who might not receive help from nobody else.
