Description :
In Mexico there is a complex problem of missing persons. According to official figures, the whereabouts of about 30,000 people are unknown. Given such disappointing numbers, it is important that the country's forensic services, which are responsible, among other things, for returning identities to unidentified deceased persons, are aware of the best practices for carrying out their work. This can improve the chances that the remains of unidentified persons are returned to their loved ones and do not end up in mass graves.
In September 2016, the National Electoral Institute, the Attorney General's Office and the National Commission of Superior Courts of Justice signed an agreement for the identification of missing persons by means of fingerprints.
