In Nikishino, in the Donetsk region, 80% of the buildings have been damaged or destroyed by fighting. The ICRC's helping residents rebuild their homes and lives.
"A sad picture," says Patrick Vial, the head of the ICRC's operations in Europe and Central Asia, about Nikishino. Recently he traveled to the east of Ukraine to see with his own eyes how people live there now.
