Description :
The current scale of human suffering around the world is greater than at any time since the Second World War. As a result of conflict and disaster, more than 130 million people are estimated to be in need of humanitarian assistance in order to survive. Together, they would form the tenth most populous country on Earth.
Today, on World Humanitarian Day, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is honoring the bravery and dedication of its volunteers and staff, whose life-saving and life-changing services day in and day out provide essential humanitarian services to vulnerable communities worldwide. We are local and international, independent and neutral, and we are everywhere for everyone.
In this edition of our “In Conversation With” video series, the ICRC's Deputy Head of Communications and Public Affairs in Washington DC, Trevor Keck, speaks with our Global Protection Delegate, Pete Guigni, about working in some of the most dangerous places on Earth, the challenges humanitarians face today and his most memorable moment with the ICRC.
