Description :
Helping to ensure that places of detention are clean and hygienic remains a priority for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who have been working in Zimbabwean prisons since 2009. In 2015, the ICRC introduced a chlorine production pilot project at Marondera Prison together with the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) with the goal of replacing the purchase of disinfectants by the ZPCS with a simpler, most cost-effective solution. In this video, we witness the impact of partnership between ZPCS and the ICRC aimed at finding affordable and sustainable solutions to keep places of detention clean.
Contribuir a garantizar que los lugares de detención estén limpios y tengan buena higiene es todavía una prioridad del Comité internacional de la Cruz Roja (CICR), que trabaja en las cárceles de Zimbabue desde 2009. En 2015, en colaboración con el Servicio Penitenciario y de Prisiones de Zimbabue (ZPCS, por sus siglas en inglés), el CICR introdujo un proyecto piloto de producción de cloro en la cárcel de Marondera, con el objetivo de reemplazar la compra de desinfectantes por parte del ZPCS con una solución más sencilla y rentable. En este vídeo, vemos de primera mano el efecto de la colaboración entre el ZPCS y el CICR con el objetivo de encontrar soluciones asequibles y sostenibles para mantener limpios los lugares de detención.
