Description :
From 2016, inmates in Zimbabwe prisons will keep the cold away by wearing jerseys that they produced themselves.
This follows a project jointly initiated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) which led to the donation of 18 knitting and sewing machines as well as provision of training to ZPCS officers and inmates. In this video, we follow the process of how inmates and officers make a jersey.
Desde 2016, los reclusos en las cárceles de Zimbabue combaten el frío vistiendo suéteres tejidos por ellos mismos. Esto fue posible gracias al programa iniciado por el Comité internacional de la Cruz Roja (CICR) junto con el Servicio Penitenciario y Correccional de Zimbabue, en cuyo marco fueron donadas 18 máquinas de tejer y de coser, y se brindó capacitación a personal del servicio penitenciario y a los reclusos. En este vídeo, se muestra cómo reclusos y personal del servicio penitenciario confeccionan un suéter.
