Description :
Conflict in the Middle East has resulted in thousands of weapon wounded people. For many, access to medical care is difficult.
In Lebanon, the ICRC is treating patients through its Weapon Traumatology Training Center (WTTC). In 2016 alone, 560 surgeries similar to those of Bashira and Shahed were performed at the WTTC. Following their surgeries, Bashira, Shahed and other patients will also receive the needed physical rehabilitation.
Bashira and Shahed will soon return to their lives. Thousands of others are still searching for a glimmer of hope.
