Ten years have passed since the last time Nohemí saw her son Cristian on August 28, 2006. He was only a few blocks from his home in Florencia, Caquetá, a region of southern Colombia that has suffered for decades the consequences of armed conflict and violence.
After receiving psychological help and arming herself with courage to leave home, Nohemí entered a course of the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) and learned to use social networks. Never in her life had she touched a computer, but found on the Internet an alternative to keep looking for Cristian.
Today, Nohemí is an active member of the Los Que Faltan Association and she does not lose hope of knowing exactly what happened on that Monday that forever changed the history of her family.
This testimony is the first in a series of publications from the #AquíFaltaAlguien campaign with which the ICRC commemorates the International Day of the Disappeared (August 30).
Han pasado 10 años desde la última vez que Nohemí lo vio, el 28 de agosto de 2006. Estaba a solo pocas cuadras de su casa en Florencia, Caquetá, una región del sur de Colombia que ha sufrido por décadas las consecuencias del conflicto armado y la violencia.
Tras recibir ayuda psicológica y armarse de valor para salir de su casa, Nohemí entró a un curso del Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) y aprendió a usar las redes sociales. Nunca en su vida había tocado un computador, pero encontró en Internet una alternativa para seguir buscando a Cristian.
Hoy Nohemí es una integrante activa de la Asociación Los Que Faltan y no pierde la esperanza de saber exactamente qué pasó ese lunes que cambió para siempre la historia de su familia.
Este testimonio es el primero de una serie de publicaciones de la campaña #AquíFaltaAlguien con la que conmemoramos el Día Internacional de los Desaparecidos (30 de agosto).
