In August 2015, torrential rains and the offshore approach of cyclone Komen caused devastating floods and landslides in Myanmar.
Three months after the floods, vulnerable communities still need to recover. Than Htay Yee, a volunteer from the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), supported by the ICRC, has been trained to evaluate the needs of communities and to provide them with cash grants for small projects in Rakhine. Here is a short clip we’ve produced on Than Htay Yee and on our work with the MRCS to help families get back on their feet in the months after the floods.
