On April 18th, 2018, Mohamed Abdulhakim Lagha, ICRC communication field officer declared : “Today we are distributing humanitarian aid assistant to those affected by the armed conflict, this comes as we are trying to relieve the suffering of the affected persons by armed conflicts in Libya. Today after the end of the armed conflict in Sirte the situation is still bad, there are many people still could not go back to their homes, because of the destruction in the downtown in the various neighbourhoods, still there are mines and bodies in areas that were not cleared yet. Also at the health level, the hospital of the city is still from the shortage of materials and medical equipment. In addition to this, there is no cash in banks, people can not get their money out of banks. This is why we are trying to relieve the suffering of the affected persons by armed conflicts in Sirte and generally in all Libya.”
