Description :
Asmaa Al-Taib is a senior prosthetist and orthotist in South Darfur, Sudan. She is one of the few women working in her field at the ICRC-supported National authority for prosthetics and orthotics.
Asmaa says that by making prosthetic limbs, she is not only giving amputees a chance to walk again, but the will to return to their lives as well. She believes that supporting people living with disabilities is her life's calling.
