Children are especially vulnerable in times of armed conflict. Despite the protection provided by law, children continue to be recruited by armed forces or groups. Many children are separated from their families, abducted, killed, maimed or sexually abused or otherwise exploited. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been working on these tragedies for decades.
