Description :
In early March 2018, Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Al Rajaa Secondary School. Peter Maurer asked Mrs. Zainab – the school’s director – about the situation of the girls in the school. He also spoke with Shifa, one of the pupils.
Afterwards, the president met an all-female family in the internal displaced persons at camp Kilo-18 in Anbar who explained him the women can not return home. Their male relatives are all either detained or missing and they could see no future for their many young girls.
