Families of missing people have specific needs. They need psychosocial support as well as help with livelihood, health, education, legal and administrative matters.
In 2015, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) started a comprehensive support programme called the Accompaniment Programme, in Sri Lanka, to help families overcome these needs. They are now coping better with their daily lives.
