There has been a multiplication of terrorist acts in armed conflict situations. This is a growing concern both internationally and domestically. It is thus important to maintain the safeguards of human rights and dignity in counterterrorism legislations as laid down in international humanitarian law.
This video was filmed during the 2017 edition of the Advanced Seminar in IHL for University Lecturers co-organized by the ICRC and the Geneva Academy. The opinions expressed by the lecturers in the series are theirs alone, and not necessarily shared by the ICRC.
