Description :
This film shows the effects of war in Grozny, capital of Chechnya, and especially effects on the population, even after the fighting ended: the city is in ruins and inhabitants survive in very precarious conditions. The camera follows a Russian women, Zina, whose apartment is in an almost destroyed building. Traumatised by the shelling, her son has lost his speech. The war also rages on in rural areas. The film describes the situation of the wounded, in rural areas especially, and that of refugees and prisoners. It shows the work of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to help the survivors (distribution of family parcels, Red Cross messages).
