Description :
In 2016, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Avina Stiftung partenered with Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH). The partnership aims at supporting the most vulnerable population with access to emergency care. The objective is also to reinforce the infrastructure of the hospital. Two new boilers are set to produce steam for essential services, like laundry and sterilization of the operation room. Two new chillers are put in place to upgrade the cooling capacity inside the hospital. A new electrical panel to enhance the safety. 2,300 sq. m. are waterproofed to prevent rain water and humidity. Together, the ICRC and RHUH teams worked on building capacities and exchanged experiences. The upcoming phase is the rehabilitation of the emergency room (E.R).
