Description : Ten hours of flying over Democratic Republic of the Congo with kids on board. The mission took place on 12th August 2019. 38 kids were picked up from different airports and were dropped in groups in different destinations to be reunited with their parents. The distance of the whole trip by plane was around 2800 km and it took 10 hours flying from one airport to another. Going from west to east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is exactly as if you go from Portugal to Poland, crossing the whole Western Europe.
The route was as follow: 7:00 am: departure from Kinshasa (west DRC), 10:30: landing in Kananga (center of DRC) and 9 kids embarked, 11:00: landing in Mbujimayi (center of DRC), 17 kids embarked, 13:00: landing in Lubumbashi (south DRC), all 26 kids disembarked to be reunited with their parents and 12 other kids embarked to be reunited in Goma, 17:30: landing in Goma (north-east DRC), end of the trip.
