The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mobile surgical team in a Maiduguri supports the local state hospital in carrying out emergency surgical procedures.
The team has carried out more than 22,000 operations in the four last years.
They provide critical medical care, usually stemming from violence in the region, and other severe medical emergencies. The ICRC's team works alongside local medical staff at the hospital.
