Description :
In Rugari, North Kivu province, in the territory of Rutshuru, 5'388 households received food assistance. The distribution, organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in collaboration with the DRC Red Cross, provided each household with a complete food ration consisting of 50 kg of maize flour, 25 kg of beans, 10 litres of vegetable oil and 1 kg of salt.
Rugari, a cluster of five localities, has been shaken by repeated armed conflicts since May 2019, forcing thousands of people to flee. Upon their return, the returnees are struggling to regain their livelihoods due to the looting of their houses and limited access to their fields.
