Description :
People displaced by conflict are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Around the world, millions of people live shoulder to shoulder in overcrowded tents. Water is needed for drinking and cooking, but its access is limite so frequent hand washing is difficult. Sanitation is often poor and soap may be non-existent. Many are already sick and wounded and suffering from malnutrition.
In response, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is working with its partners to :
- Distribute hygiene kits with soap
- Provide clean water and install hand washing points
- Change how aid is distributed in camps to reduce queues and crowds
- Screen patients befire entering health facilities.
