Description :
Al Hol is a refugee camp in north east Syria. It was built for 10 000 people but now 66 000 people live here. Most of them are women and children. Conditions are squalid and it's not always easy to wash hands. People here are particularly vulnerable to the spread of viruses like COVID-19. At the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Syrian Arab Red Crescent run field hospital, we are putting in measures to protect patients and staff : putting up fences to stop overcrowding, screening patients at the entrance, equipping staff with protective equipment, installing additional handwashing points, strengthening infection control measures.
