Description :
Since 2011, Tripoli has witnessed multiple waves of fighting. The ongoing violence has severely weakened the city's infrastructure. In recent months, South Tripoli's Abu Salim municipality has received thousands of internally displaced persons, fleeing violence in nearby areas. Inside one of its few remaining primary healthcare facilities, Dr Widjan and her team continue to treat patients, despite facing a shortage of supplies and human ressources. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is working with medical teams across Abu Salim helping provide the emergency and regular support they need. Dr Widjan and her team are able to work on the front line despite the complex challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of resources.
