Description :
50 million people are affected by urban warfare every year. Many of them are in Syria, where the conflict has lasted almost ten years. Towns and cities, once homes to millions of families, are witness to the devastation. Basic infrastructure is destroyed. 2 million children cannot go to school. 50 % of health facilities are destroyed, closed, or partially functioning. Those who return home after years away face huge challenges. Unexploded ordances lies hidden under rubble. People struggle to find work and create jobs. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is supporting many as they try to rebuild their lives and communities.
