In Viet Nam, people with disability are among the hardest hit by COVID-19. Accessing public health information, income opportunity and health facilities is a major issue.
Patients at the Can Tho Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital are just one of many cases affected by the pandemic. Can Tho Hospital has provided orthopedic and rehabilitation services since 1972. Unfortunately, it must decrease the capacity of medical examination and treatment by up to 30% and temporarily stop receiving patients except emergencies. Almost 20,000 cases have been treatetd at this hospital in the past three years.
During coronavirus crisis, people with disabilities generally have more healthcare needs than others.
