Description : After months of a spiraling economic crisis and battling the COVID-19 pandemic, Lebanon was already in a fragile state.
The August 4th, 2020 explosion brings more suffering and misery. Over 300,000 people have been left homeless. Hospitals are overwhelmed. Many people have life-changing injuries.
In the coming weeks and months, families will struggle to repair their homes and feed themselves. Many people will need mental health support. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is working with Lebanese Red Cross to help families trace their loved ones, distribute food and emergecy items and address the most pressing medical needs.
