In Libya, the COVID-19 pandemic comes on top of years of conflict that led to the disruption of public services and the loss of many employment opportunities. More and more people are losing their livelihoods and incomes, and employees often go without pay for months at a time.
Narjes opened a sewing business with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), but COVID-19 prevented her from continuing. The ICRC then provided her with additional cash grants to help her get through this difficult period.
